This high-profile international initiative aims to build strategic partnerships that will channel investment into the North East of England, open up global opportunities for the UK’s creative industries, and position the region as a gateway for cultural and economic collaboration with Asia.

A Creative North East, Ready for the World

Rooted in the North East, Turnover XXV is driven by a bold vision: to connect authentic regional voices to global audiences through high-quality, commercially viable storytelling. Its scalable production model leverages UK Film Tax Credits,  regional skills and incentives to produce impactful work that blends artistic excellence with economic opportunity.

With Dr Krishna’s deep-rooted network and knowledge across South-East Asia, the team has joined forces with award-winning Malaysian creative and digital media agency Ampersand Advisory to co-develop the Independent Film Production Partnership — a cross-border collaboration focused on narrative exchange, talent development, and co-investment.

“I was born and bred in the North East,” said Craig Conway. “It's always been my mission to bring investment into the region, create opportunity, and tell stories that reflect our diversity and strength. Partnering with Ampersand for this groundbreaking initiative is a proud moment — one that puts the North East at the heart of global independent filmmaking.”
